What it is
When a problem has several operations, do them in the correct order so everyone gets the same answer.
Why it matters
2+3×4 has two different 'right' answers depending on whether you follow the priority rules or just read left to right — order of operations is the grammar that makes expressions make sense once variables replace numbers.
How to do it
- Do anything inside Brackets first.
- Then Multiply and Divide, working left to right.
- Then Add and Subtract, working left to right.
